Sri Vijaya Puram, Oct 18: Directorate of Social Welfare today organized an informative and impactful awareness program focusing on the Ill Effects of Alcohol and Drug Abuse. This initiative, held under the banner of the “ill Effect if drug abuse” under “Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan”, took place at Biswakarma Auto Driver Sangh, Aberdeen Bazaar, Sri Vijaya Puram.
The program began with an insightful session led by Mrs. Anchamma, Project Assistant at NAPDDR, who shed light on the serious impact of substance abuse on individuals, families, and society as a whole. In her keynote address, she underscored the government’s strong commitment to creating a drug-free India through the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan. This initiative focuses on raising awareness, preventing addiction, and supporting recovery efforts nationwide.
Dr. M.K. Mahato (IRCA), an expert in substance abuse and mental health, addressed the key challenges faced by those struggling with drug addiction. He emphasized the severe impact on physical, mental, and emotional well-being, engaging participants in discussions on the dangers of substance abuse and the power of collective action. His message of resilience, hope, and mutual support inspired many to reflect on their choices and motivated them to raise awareness to prevent addiction.
Dr. Nitin Shakya, Director, Directorate of Social Welfare, aims to the urgent need to combat the increasing drug-related issues, particularly among the youth. Drug abuse poses a serious threat to the very fabric of our society, shattering lives, tearing apart families, and weakening communities. This program is dedicated to raising awareness, educating the public, and providing crucial support to those affected.
