Sri Vijaya Puram, Oct 16: Nehru Yuva Kendra (NYK) Rangat, in collaboration with the Fire Department Rangat, organized “International Day for Disaster Reduction” on 13th October 2024. at Church line, Road Rangat. In this programme total Participants were 74 individuals, including youth volunteers and local community members, all dedicated to learning and promoting disaster resilience.
In this programme Mr. S. K Paul, ICFS Was the chief Guest. The programme commenced with a warm welcome extended to the dignitaries from the Fire Department, led by the Mr. S. K Paul, ICFS, along with participants and community leaders. The Head Constable of the Fire Department took the stage to speak about the significance of the International Day for Disaster Reduction, highlighting the need for increased awareness, preparedness, and community involvement in disaster risk reduction.
The event also featured a live demonstration of fire safety equipment by the Fire Department team. The demonstration aimed to educate the audience on the proper use of firefighting tools and techniques, providing crucial insights on how to respond effectively in the event of a fire or other emergencies.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, by Mr. Peter Barla where the organizers expressed their gratitude to the Fire Department for their valuable time, knowledge, and demonstration, as well as to all the participants for their active involvement in this important initiative.
The event not only raised awareness but also strengthened the community’s ability to reduce disaster risks, fostering a spirit of preparedness and resilience.
