Sri Vijaya Puram, Oct 14: The Department of Industries, A&N Administration along with the support and co-ordination of Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), New Delhi organized a day long workshop-cum-meeting on the Business Reform Action Plan (BRAP) 2024 and Minimizing Regulatory Compliance Burden (RCB) at the conference hall of the Department of Industries, Middle Point, Sri Vijaya Puram on 14th October, 2024 from 10:30 AM onwards.
Dr. Bhuvnesh Pratap Singh, IAS, Deputy Secretary, DPIIT, New Delhi was the chief guest on the occasion along with other officers from DPIIT and Invest India, New Delhi.
The programme started with the invocation of lamp by the dignitaries to mark the inauguration of the daylong event. The workshop was attended by Dr. Satyendra Singh Dursawat, IAS, Secretary(Industries), A&N Administration, Mr. Abhishek Bhukal, GM, DIC and Director of Industries along with Mr. Sushil Kumar, Under Secretary, DPIIT, New Delhi. Besides, the members from various stakeholders, industrial associations and business associations attended the workshop. The nodal officers from the line departments of the A&N Administration also participated in the workshop.
At the outset, Dr. Satyendra Singh Dursawat, IAS, Secretary (Industries), A&N Administration welcomed the gathering and informed that the UT Andaman & Nicobar Islands under Reduction of Compliance Burden (RCB), the modes of delivery of 50 business/industry centric services and 32 citizen centric services were rationalized by simplifying, digitizing and reducing the documentary requirements of the services. The UT administration has also reviewed all the Act, Rules & Regulation towards decriminalization of minor offences wherever possible. Moreover, he added that 30 online services and 68 Know Your Approvals pertaining to Andaman & Nicobar Islands were soft launched in the National Single Window System (NSWS) portal.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Bhuvnesh Pratap Singh, IAS, Deputy Secretary, DPIIT, New Delhi expressed happiness that the UT of Andaman & Nicobar Islands was felicitated as “Top Achiever in Two Citizen Centric Reform Areas” in Business Reforms Action Plan (BRAP) 2022 ranking. Further, he urged the line departments under the UT of A&N Administration to come forward in streamlining regulatory structures and creating a investor friendly business environment in order to meet the objectives of Ease of Doing Business initiative of Govt. of India.
The technical sessions featured a session by Ms Divyani, Manager, NSWS, Invest India on NSWS portal along with the live demo of the NSWS portal. A session on Minimizing Regulatory Compliances was presented by Mr. Dharmendar Kumar, DPIIT, New Delhi. Furthermore, Mr. Ankur Vatsa, DPIIT, New Delhi made a presentation along with an interactive session on Business Reform Action Plan 2024.
During the interaction session, the members of industrial associations & stakeholders raised many queries and issues including tariff rate of Industrial estates which were constructively addressed. Besides the members of industrial associations & stakeholders also came forward and submitted many suggestions relevant in the current industrial scenario. The workshop concluded with the vote of thanks proposed by Mr. Ajit Anand, Deputy Director, Department of Industries.
