On this momentous occasion of the 92nd anniversary of the Indian Air
Force (IAF), I take great pride in recognizing the invaluable contributions of our air warriors and their unwavering dedication to our nation. Over the past nine decades, the Indian Air Force has exemplified professionalism, evolving into one of the finest air forces globally. The rich legacy has been enhanced by the induction of modern systems and adaption to rapidly changing operational requirements while upholding core military values and engaging in humanitarian assistance. The HADR missions across the globe and at various regions in India, participation in numerous international exercises and conduct of operation exercises and Air Shows speaks volumes of its professionalism and dedication of the air warriors.
The support rendered by the IAF during peacetime is commendable. I wish to highlight the medical evacuation of 15 emergency patients via MI-17 helicopters and Dornier aircraft in last one year. In addition, it has been extensively undertaking Inter Island Communication Sorties (IICS) to transport local civilians from Sri Vijaya Puram to far flung areas of ANI and back as humanitarian aid to the Civil Government. The first fighting efforts
by MI-17 helicopters at Katchal Island and at Gandhinagar (Shivpur) was
praiseworthy.
I commend all air warriors for their dedication, work ethic and commitment to duty on the significant day. I encourage them to continue fostering jointness while remaining resolute in the face of challenges.
I also commend the step taken by IAF towards nation building by adopting two villages namely Brookshabad and Shyam Nagar in North Andaman.
As we celebrate Air Force Day, I extend my warmest greetings to all personnel of the IAF, non-combatants, DSC personnel, air veterans, and their families and wish them success in all their future endeavours.
Jai Hind !
