Sri Vijaya Puram, Oct 03: In a bid to promote cleanliness and environmental awareness, the CRC A&N Islands, in collaboration with Ward Councillor Mr. Vetrivel( ward no19), organized a successful street cleaning drive in Garacharama as part of the Swachhata Hi Seva 2024 initiative.
The event took place on 2nd October 2024, bringing together volunteers, sanitary inspector, and staff members of CRC A&N Islands to work towards a cleaner and greener community. Participants enthusiastically engaged in various activities, including litter collection and the distribution of awareness materials about waste management and hygiene practices.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Vetrivel, Ward Counsellor, Prothrapur emphasized the importance of community involvement in maintaining cleanliness. “This initiative is not just about cleaning our streets; it’s about fostering a sense of responsibility among residents. When we take ownership of our environment, we create a healthier and more sustainable future for ourselves and our children,” In addition to cleaning activities, educational workshops were conducted to inform participants about the importance of recycling, waste segregation, and sustainable living practices.
Mrs. Sumithamol, Director, CRC A&N Islands extended the gratitude to all volunteers and local organizations that contributed to the success of the event. Their collective efforts underscored the community spirit that is vital for achieving the goals of Swachhata Hi Seva 2024.
