Sri Vijaya Puram, Oct 01: The damaged RK Nallah Bridge in the Middle Strait area has caused significant disruption in traffic, with several vehicles stranded at Middle Andaman and South Andaman by this afternoon. As soon as the news spread across the Rangat region, people started panicking.
As per details by the evening, long queues of vehicles were seen at local petrol pumps, with residents fearing that the bridge’s closure might last several days, cutting off transport between Rangat and Sri Vijaya Puram.
Many people rushed to refuel their vehicles, leading to a growing line of cars at the petrol stations. However, petrol pump employees assured the public that there was no need to panic. There is no clarity over movement of oil tankers yet but the situation remains under control, and officials are working swiftly to resolve the issue and ensure that traffic returns to normal as soon as possible.
