Sri Vijaya Puram, Sept 22: In order to commemorate the ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’ initiative, an awareness program was organized by ICDS Urban Project under Directorate of Social Welfare at Government Girls Senior Secondary School, Sri Vijaya Puram, under the guidance of the school Principal, Mrs. Archana Singh. The program aimed to educate the students from classes 6th to 9th on various important topics. Dr. Nandini from Ayush Hospital discussed anaemia and its prevention, while Mrs. Sarika Varma, a consultant nutritionist from Social Welfare, spoke about ‘Poshan Maah is an annual initiative dedicated to improving public health through better nutrition and dietary practices. Mrs. Nandini, Sub-inspector from Aberdeen Police Station informed the students about POCSO and the three new criminal laws. Mrs. Zarina Bibi, CDPO from Social Welfare, highlighted the importance of ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao Scheme and Mrs. Beena, ANM from GB Pant Hospital, emphasized the significance of personal hygiene. The program concluded with a vote of thanks by Mrs. Sarika Varma, Consultant, Poshan 2.0.
