Port Blair, Sep 05: Teachers’ Day, commemorating the birth anniversary of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, was celebrated with great enthusiasm at the TGCE Auditorium. The occasion was graced by Dr. S.J. Mathew, Former Principal, TGCE, as Chief Guest for the day.
Dr. Manjulata Rao, Principal In-charge of TGCE, delivered a warm welcome address, reflecting on the noble life and immense responsibility of teachers. She emphasized the role of educators as guides and mentors who shape the future of society through their commitment to students’ growth.
In his speech, Dr. S.J. Mathew, emphasized the crucial role educators play in shaping not only careers but also the character of individuals and also praised the students for their enthusiastic participation. He also highlighted the importance of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan’s philosophy of education, which advocates for teachers as nation-builders.
A special highlight of the program was the unveiling of the college magazine “Campus Insight” by Dr. S.J. Mathew, showcasing the innovative ideas, the creative achievements, and academic contributions of both students and faculty.
The day marked not only a celebration of teachers but also an acknowledgment of the creativity and hard work of the trainees and staff by conveying deep respect and admiration for the teachers who nurture their talents and aspirations, which were beautifully expressed through music, dance, and drama.
