Port Blair, Aug 27: The Anti-Narcotics Police Station carried out a successful operation targeting drug-related activities, underscoring their unwavering dedication to combating narcotics in the Andaman & Nicobar Islands. Acting on precise intelligence, a team led by Inspector Pritam Behari, SHO, Anti-Narcotics, along with SI Mohd Rahil Islam and staff members PC/ Vishal Kumar, PC/ S Nanak Singh, PC/ Ratan Das, PC/ M. Raja Rao, and LPC/ Nandita Mistry, executed the operation under the supervision of Mr. Vishesh Dhatterwal, DANIPS, Dy.SP, Narcotics.
During the operation, Mrs. Mitali Halder, 25 yrs R/o Joda Kalan, near the petrol pump, was apprehended for the possession of illegal ganja. A search of her residence resulted in the discovery of 540 grams of ganja, concealed in a green bag within a green polythene bag. The contraband was seized, and Mrs. Mitali Halder was arrested following the legal procedures under the NDPS Act, 1985.
A case under relevant sections of the NPDS Act, 1985, has been registered at the Anti-Narcotics Police Station and further investigation is under process. The raid was conducted under the overall supervision of Mr. Rajeev Ranjan, IPS, SP (CID), A&N Islands.
