Port Blair, Aug 27: In anticipation of the upcoming State-Level Mock Exercise on Earthquake and Tsunami, scheduled to be conducted across the Andaman & Nicobar Islands on 30/08/2024, the North & Middle Andaman District Police have initiated proactive measures to raise public awareness.
On 26/08/2024, all Police Stations under N&MA District organized a bike rally to aware the general public about the critical Do’s and Don’ts during an earthquake and tsunami. The rally featured police personnel displaying placards and banners with important safety tips and covered various coastal and village areas to ensure maximum outreach.
In addition to the rally, street corner meetings were also conducted in various localities, where officers engaged directly with community members, providing guidance and answering questions about how to stay safe during such natural disasters.
This proactive measure aims to enhance community preparedness and resilience, ensuring that citizens are well-informed and equipped to respond effectively in the event of such natural disasters.
