On the occasion of 1st inaugural anniversary of New Integrated Terminal Building at Veer Savarkar international Airport, Airports Authority of India in collaboration with Shrushti Communication and Narayana Health City (Narayana Hrudayalaya), Bengaluru is organising three-day heart health screening camp from 18.07.2024 to 20.07.2024 at the premises of Veer Savarkar international Airport.
The New Integrated Terminal Building of Veer Savarkar International Airport, Port Blair was inaugurated on 18th July, 2023 by Hon’ble Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi via video conferencing, with a total built up area of 40,837 sqm., the new terminal building is capable to handle 1200 passengers during the busiest operational hour also known as peak hour and about 50 lakh passengers annually. Inspired from nature, the architectural design of the airport terminal building resembles a shell shaped structure depicting sea and islands.
The cardiac screening at the camp will be free of cost and open to the general public. The timing of the camp will be 10:30 am to 4:30 PM, with a plan to screen 150 persons daily. The common systems for heart related ailments are chest pain, shortness of breath, irregular heartbeat, chest tightness, radiating pain from shoulders, weakness, dizziness, sweating, nausea etc.
The cardiac check-up will include BMI, BP, RBS, ECG(Cardiac Consultation), ECHO and Consultation. The check up is planned for the first 450 registrations.
Airport Director Sh Devender Yadav said the aim of the camp is to spread awareness about heart health, identify cardiac risks and abnormalities at an early stage and encourage people to lead a healthy lifestyle. Most of us do not know how to handle sudden cardiac attacks and when to see a doctor, timely diagnosis and intervention plays a key role in saving lives. After all “Ye Dil Ka Mamla Hai ”.
