Diglipur, July 01: A Bike Rally as a part of legal awareness programme on newly passed three laws which are effective from July 1 across the Nation was held in the morning hours here today.
According to information, the bike rally was organised by the PS, Diglipur to create an awareness among the people of the three new laws on the day of their implementation with the theme “Sikhshit Raho Jagaruk Raho”. The rally started at around 07:45 am from in front of the Police Station, Diglipur and was flagged off by SDPO, Diglipur, N/Andaman, Mr. Chandra Prakash Meena. The rally proceeded upto Sardar Tikrey and touched all the vantage points in between and ended at the starting point at around 08:30 am.
Notably, the three new criminal laws namely Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), and the Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam (BSA) have replaced the Indian Penal Code, the Code of Criminal Procedure and the Indian Evidence Act, respectively, with effect from July 1, 2024.
Later, an awareness programme on the implementation of these three new laws was organised by PS Diglipur in Multipurpose Hall, Diglipur. The program was graced by DySP, Diglipur, N/Andaman Mr. CP Meena while the legal awareness programme was attended by Pramukh, Panchayat Samiti, Diglipur Mr. Dipankar Mistry, Pradhan GP Subhashgram, Mr. PR Singaram, Pradhan GP Madhupur, Mr. Shyamol Debnath, Pradhan Laxmipur, Mr. Sujan Das, Pradhan Gandhinagar Mr. Swapan Das, Mrs. Suniti Haldar BJP District President, Mr. Pradeep Das, Zila Parishad Member RK Gram, Fisherman Group, Autorickshaw Union, Cargo Union, Vyapari Sangh among others.
Mr. K. Binoj, SHO, Diglipur, Sub Inspector, PS Diglipur Mr. Mohammad Rafiq and Sub Inspector Abdul Shakeel delivered speeches on these three new laws and acquainted them with their major changes. The Police officials then replied to their queries in respect of these laws in detail, a Police official source said.
