Betapur, Feb 12: An awareness program and study tour for the students of Mahatma Gandhi Govt. College, Mayabunder was organized by D.F.O Wild Life, Mayabunder in which seventy students of the college were selected and they were taken to different places around Mayabunder for nature excursion.
This program started on 8th Feb and will continue till 13th Feb the main objectives of this program are to make the students aware on the importance of forests and nature. The students of BA Historical studies & Political Science participated in the program today and they were taken to Curtburt Bay Wild Life Sanctuary and Dhani Nallah for nature excursions, the students were accompanied by Range Officer Mr. Muiddin and Forest Guard Mr. Kumar.
Both the officials enthusiastically informed students on different aspects of nature, and students too were very curious on gaining
knowledge on different colours of Mother Nature. Further the students were taken to Dhanni Nallah Beach and it was informed by the Forest officials to them that the Dhanni Nallah Beach is one of the Richest Sea Beaches in India with around thirty four species of mangrove growing there, they also visited the Turtle Nest Hatchery which is one of its kind.
The students of Mahatma Gandhi Govt. College, Mayabunder were extremely moved by getting in close contact with nature and they also took the Oath to spread awareness among the fellow students and in their neighborhood on different aspects of nature.
Dr. R.N Rath, Principal, Mahatma Gandhi Govt. College, Mayabunder has expressed his sincere gratitude to D.F.O, (Wild Life) Mayabunder and requested him to arrange these kinds of program every year so that more young minds can be inspired.
