Port Blair, Feb 25: A special lecture was organised at Seminar hall (Room no. 52) to sensitize and make students well aware about the various aspects of life, threats, behaviors and conservation of The Sea turtles of Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Mr. K. Irfan Ali, Programme Assistant from Dakshin Foundation and Andaman Nicobar Environment Team (ANET), Port Blair, through power point presentation gave details about the Four species of sea turtles found in Andaman and Nicobar Islands. In his presentation he shares field experiences with sea turtles especially on leatherback (Dermochelys coriacea) during research in little Andaman. The lecture ends with a questionnaire session. Earlier Dr. Vivek Kumar Sahu, Assistant Professor and Chairman of The Nature Club, Department of Zoology, briefed the students about the importance of biodiversity with special reference to these Islands. The entire program was witnessed by the faculty and students of the department of Zoology.
