Port Blair, Feb 06: : The President of Living On The Edge (LOTE), Mr.Abhay Kumar, has raised concerns over the delayed issuance of offer letters to candidates selected for mazdoor positions under the Divisional Forest Office, Wimberlygunj. The recruitment, completed after an 8-year gap, saw the final list published on November 30, 2023.
Expressing dismay over the prolonged delay in issuing offer letters, Mr. Kumar highlighted the candidates’ eagerness to join the department and serve. Despite the lapse of over two months since the publication of the final list, the Forest Department has not issued the much-awaited offer letters.
Mr.Abhay Kumar urged the Principal Chief Conservator of Forest to intervene, emphasizing the need for a swift resolution to avoid further uncertainties. The selected candidates, who successfully cleared all tests and examinations, anxiously await their appointments as Mazdoors. Kumar called for immediate action in the larger public interest.
A copy of the appeal has been forwarded to the Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) with a request to expedite the necessary procedures and the Chief Secretary for attention to the matter.
Later on today a delegation led by Mr. Abhay Kumar and Mr. O. Bashir, Ex Pradhan, Mannarghat met PCCF, Additional PCCF and the Conservator of Forest in the Van Sadan and apprised of the situation. The officers had assured of the quickest possible action to settle the issue.
