Port Blair, Jan 18: In a spirit of unity and celebration, the Andaman and Nicobar Police hosted a vibrant “At Home” function as part of the 72nd Raising Day festivities. The event, held on 18/01/2024, was graced by the esteemed presence of the Chief Guest, Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor Admiral DK Joshi (Retd), Mr. Nikhil Kumar, I/c Chief Secretary, Director General of Police, Mr. Devesh Chandra Srivastva, Mr. Sandeep Sandhu, COS, A&N Command along with other dignitaries.
The function commenced with the rendition of the National Anthem, symbolizing the unity and pride that defines the spirit of the Andaman and Nicobar Police. This was followed by the unveiling of a special postal cover, a tangible representation of the A&N Police’s journey and achievements over the 72 years of dedicated service.
Chief Guest, the Lieutenant Governor, along with DGP Devesh Chandra Srivastva and other distinguished guests, actively participated in the postal cover unveiling ceremony. The special postal cover encapsulates the essence of the police force’s legacy and commitment to the safety and well-being of the community.
The ceremony concluded with a delightful high tea, various band formations and enchanting performances, fostering an atmosphere of camaraderie and mutual appreciation. Officers, personnel, and guests shared moments of reflection and celebration, reinforcing the bonds that unite the Andaman and Nicobar Police with various wings of Administration and respectables.
