Port Blair, Jan 16: In a proactive effort to engage the youths in constructive and healthy activities and as a pivotal measure to curb the drug menace in the Islands, the “Makam Youth Club” organized the Stewart Gunj Premier League Season lV Cricket Tournament.
On the occasion of the Grand Finale, Mr. TSG Bhasker, Chairman of ANTCC Campaign Committee was invited as the Chief Guest.
He was accompanied by Mr. O.M.S Thangal, Senior Congress Leader, Mr. Saji Varghese, Senior Congress Leader, Mr. Mohd. Zubair, City Congress President, Mr. M.A Sajid, State President NSUI, Mr. Abhibhushan Ghosh, Vice-President Youth Congress, Mr. Y. Joga Rao, Councillor Ward No. 14 and Mr. H. Yusuf, General Secretary Youth Congress.
The final match was played between AN Titans and Raziq brothers. Both the teams displayed exceptional talent, skill, and sportsmanship throughout the Tournament.
The match witnessed overwhelming participation of youths, cricket lovers, PRIs and public at large making this event a huge success.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. TSG Bhasker said that youths participating in sports are the true ambassadors to overcome the challenge of drug menace. He congratulated the Makam Youth Club for organizing such an extravaganza tournament aimed to nurture sports talent and foster camaraderie among the local youths.
The programme ended with the distribution of trophies to the winner and runner up teams by Mr. TSG Bhasker and other guests.
