Port Blair, Nov 28: A minor fire incident struck today a Tsunami Permanent Shelter in Perka village near Perka Church, Car Nicobar. The house is owned by Mr. Winsore and Mr. Antony.
The fire, believed to have originated from an electric short circuit, was spotted at around 02:00 pm. Prompt action by local residents saw an immediate alert to the Fire Station, leading to a swift response from the firefighting team. The diligent efforts of the firefighters, led by Station Officer Sh. S. Subba Raj, helped control the blaze effectively.
Fortunately, there were no reported injuries as a result of this Fire incident. The firefighting team’s quick intervention played a crucial role in preventing a major disaster in the heart of Perka village, the headquarters of Car Nicobar.
Acknowledging the unwavering commitment and dedication of the Fire Fighters, the Village Captain, Sh. Kumar Paul, along with local residents, expressed heartfelt thanks to Station Officer Sh. S. Subba Raj and the entire firefighting team at the Car Nicobar Fire Station.
