Port Blair, Oct 17: The ANTCC Campaign Committee Chairman Mr. TSG Bhasker has highlighted the deteriorating condition of NH-4 road which is causing immense hardships to the people of North and Middle Andaman as well as the businessmen community.
In a letter addressed to the Chief Secretary, A&N Administration, Mr. Bhasker pointed out that many businessmen have started withdrawing their services to North & Middle Andaman considering the safety of their drivers and damage to their vehicles. This has led to a shortage of essential commodities in North & Middle Andaman.
He added that due to the deplorable condition of NH-4 road, it is also becoming difficult to transfer patients of North & Middle Andaman to Port Blair for treatment.
Hence, to alleviate the ongoing struggles faced by the residents of North & Middle Andaman, Mr. Bhasker has requested the Chief Secretary to make immediate alternative arrangements by operating 3 boats weekly from Port Blair to Rangat, Mayabunder and Diglipur regions in order to provide relief to the general public and to ensure a hassle-free journey.
