Port Blair, May 12: As the Stranded passengers of Campbell Bay boarded in MV Coral Queen for returning back to their home and uniting with their family, people in Great Nicobar breathed a sigh of relief.
As per details around 123 Passengers boarded the ship today, and all of them have gone through covid-19 Screening process.
Earlier most of the passengers had gone through COVID-19 test and after obtaining the health certificate they boarded the vessel but suddenly just before embarkation of the ship some more passengers appeared from nowhere demanding tickets, without COVID-19 test certificate.
Sources said that then the Deputy Commissioner South Andaman Mr. Abhishek Dev reached the port and allowed COVID-19 screening at the Port for the left out passengers after which they were allowed to board the ship. All the passengers will have to be in Home Quarantine after reaching Campbell Bay.
Mr. Gagandeep Singh Grewal Up-Adhyaksh ZPSA, Mr. K Raja Pradhan GP C/Bay and Mr. Rahul Singh President INYC Nicobar District expressed their gratitude to the Administration for helping the Stranded Passengers of Great Nicobar Island.
