Port Blair, Mar 05: In the coming elections of Port Blair Municipal Council there will be elections for 24 wards and not 18 because the PBMC is all set to get 24 wards.
According to official release of Administration, the limits of Port Blair Municipal Council have been extended by the Administrator, A & N Islands with the inclusion of 06 (six) villages and the number of seats has also been increased to 24 for the extended limit of Port Blair Municipal Council.
In pursuance thereof, the wards of Port Blair Municipal Council and various Panchayats are being delimited, the proposal for which shall be displayed by the Election Commission (UTs) at various conspicuous places in all the Wards.
It is learnt that Suggestions and objections shall be invited shortly upon publication of delimitation proposals by the Election Commission (UTs).
The date and time for filing of objections and suggestions, names of the officer for receipt of the Objections and suggestions shall be spelt out in the notification to be published containing the proposals for delimitation
