Port Blair, Jan 05: The Chief Secretary, A & N Administration Mr. Anindo Mazumdar , IAS on the second day of his visit to Campbell Bay along with Deputy Commissioner, Nicobars Sh. Awanish Kumar, Superintendent of Police, Nicobars Mr. Manoj C., AC (HQ) South Andaman, Dr. Mohd. Rehan Raza, AC (Campbell Bay), Sh. Ranjit Kr. Singh, AC (Nancowrie) Mr. Nishant Bodh, DFO Nicobars, Mr. Thomas Verghese and other local heads of Offices and staffs of different departments today trekked to Indira Point, the Southernmost tip of the country.
The expedition was undertaken by the administration to explore the potential and possibilities of developing Tourism in the Great Nicobar Islands. The distance, to and fro, of 11 km was traversed in 03 and half hours which completely tested the physical fitness and endurance of all. On the completion of journey to the Indira Point, a group photograph was taken. It was a pride moment for everyone when the Indian National Flag was displayed as a mark of respect. It also strengthened the reach of administration in the remotest part of the country.
The whole expedition led by the Chief Secretary with his perseverance, grit and determination, motivated the younger officers and all the staffs. After the successful accomplishment of the arduous journey, he expressed his happiness and satisfaction. He gave a message to the nation that government’s presence and benefits should reach each and every corner of the country.
