Port Blair, Dec 04: A male Crocodile of 2.5 meters in length and around 200 Kgs in weight aged around 05 years has been captured in a net placed by the staffs of Forest Department with the help of some fishermen this afternoon at around 03:00pm from the Corbyn’s Cove Beach area.
As per reports, since last 03 days the same Crocodile was sighted in the area following which swimming and all water sports activities were closed in Corbyn’s Cove beach area.
Staffs of Forest Department were also deputed at the beach so that they may keep a check and trap the Crocodile.
The Captured crocodile was then shifted to the Mini Zoo, Haddo. As per insiders, instructions are still awaited from the top bosses of the Forest Department for shifting the Crocodile, permanently.
As per sources there might be another crocodile in that area which is bigger in size but has not been sighted by anyone.
Sources further said that the forest department’s team will continue their search for the second crocodile in Corbyn’s Cove area from tomorrow.
