Port Blair, Aug 11: The Coast Guard Station, Kamorta organized a visit for school children onboard Coast Guard Ship Varad in coordination with the local administration. The children from Government Model Senior Secondary School Gol Tekri and Government Model Senior Secondary School Kamorta were invited onboard ICGS Varadon recently. Altogether, 300 school children including 30 teaching staff attended the event. During the visit, the school children were familiarized to the various activities and role of Indian Coast Guard in securing the coast of India. The visit also resulted in enhancing the knowledge of school children about various navigation aids, diving equipment, pollution response equipment as well as way of life on board a ship. A Coast Guard Movie was also screened on the occasion for the visitors. The Commanding Officer ICGS Varad expressed gratitude to the School Principal for motivating students for such visit.
