Members of Ex-Andaman Political Prisoner’s Fraternity Circle pay tribute at the National Memorial

Port Blair, Aug 14: A group of 43 members from the Ex-Andaman Political Prisoner’s Fraternity Circle has arrived today on a three days visit to the islands under the leadership of Mr. Anup Dasgupta, Working President of the Circle. Today, the group visited National Memorial Cellular Jail and paid floral tribute at the Martyrs’ Column of the National Memorial.  They also presented patriotic songs on the occasion. The groups consist of 16 widows and sons and daughters of Freedom Fighters of Cellular Jail. They recollected the sacrifices made by Freedom Fighters and martyrs for the emancipation of our motherland. The group will attend Independence Day Celebrations at Port Blair and will return to Kolkata on 17th August 2012.
