During the programme Mr. Puneet said, this is just a small initiative and they will be most willing to contribute more in a better way to the people of Andaman.
Suggestions were given from Dr Avijit to support the people going to the mainland for treatment, in their logistics like stay and food during the period of treatment. Earlier under ANISHI scheme, the logistics were taken care of but after the scheme was abolished and brought under Ayushman Bharat, the poor populace are finding it difficult
Dr. Munni Singhania suggested bringing in Specialists and Super Specialists who are not business oriented. We have Specialists coming down through Apollo, MYOT etc who target to take the patients to the mainland. She requested, if Specialists are able to visit without business and for true charity, it would be of great help for the people. As for the infrastructure is concerned, the health department has good infrastructure but lacks in speciality treatment
Mr. Puneet also explained the kind of works they did in very remote and rural areas by donating, bike ambulances etc. The trust also had Okays to donate sea ambulance for the islands, but these things can only be done by understanding the requirements of the UT Government, he added.
